Brighton Restaurant
The brief was a moody, stylish, oak panelled bar and restaurant. Vintage lighting and furniture gives a warm atmosphere - Who doesn’t love a cafe curtain for an air of chic?
We wanted to feature a wall of the owner’s vintage Punch magazine covers with picture lighting for a playful nod to the past.
“Opening a restaurant is stressful.
Philippa took so much weight off us, making the interior design of the space feel fun and creative. She held our hands when we needed it, and also read the mood when we had to bow to budget rather than desire! She guided us through crucial decisions like colour palette, offering ideas that made lasting statements on the way the space is used. Our group WhatsApp pinged with items and ideas she saw out in the real world, so we constantly knew she was engaged. All these months on, we all still enjoy walking into that space, and I don’t believe there is a greater compliment I can pay to her enormous talent and achievement.”
